In which, y'all get another Rowdydow and another peak behind the curtain...yet again.

HOODY ROODY, My Doodies.

How’d He Howdy Dowdy Do That?

This week we’re taking another look back. This time at this little weirdo.

I kinda had an idea of where I wanted to go with the wizard, so there wasn’t as much experimentation with this one. I saw this illustration a while back on instagram (back when I was still using instagram) of the two main villains from Ahsoka. The artist had really simplified their silhouettes down to basically a big bulky square for the older one (don’t know the names of these characters) and a triangle for little one.

I wish I had saved it because I really loved how simple and fun the approach was. If anyone else saw that and knows how to find it, let me know. Anyway, the reason I bring it up is because it inspired this triangle approach for the wizard.

In addition, I was also doing some study drawings of a cartoonist named Brady Lewis (https://bradlewisdesign.com/index.html) around the same time. He’s got a really fun approach to cartooning and I think one of the major takeaways I got from this study was the eye distance. I wouldn’t think to draw eyes so close together otherwise.

Some of these are drawings straight from his work, but I think some of them are creations mixing my own ideas with some concepts from the study. Not sure. Anyway, check out his stuff. I think it’s fun.

I’m pretty sure that guy with the hoodie influenced how closed the hood on Tank’s (the bully from Rowdydow) sweatshirt looked.

Anyway…

BYE!

That’s all for this week. Goodbye.
