NEW ROWDY PAGE + I SAW A DEER (2017)
In which, y'all get a new Rowdy page and a little look at an old comic.
NEW ROWDYDOW PAGE
Bobert finally gets to class in this weeks Rowdydow update. Let’s see how well it goes from him.
Y’all ever get those recurring dreams where you suddenly realize that you’re back in school and you don’t know where any of your classes are? I sure do. Not sure why I’m bringing it up, tbh.
OLD COMIC EXPLORATION
I realized the other day that there was an old comic of mine that I failed to upload to my website. Instead of uploading it there right away, I thought I’d give y’all a sneak peak. It’s from 2017 and it’s called I Saw A Deer: The Slightly True Story of a Deer I Saw Once.
Most of you I imagine have already read this one, but perhaps some haven’t. I’ll post the pages below and then give you a little insight after.
TRIGGER WARNING: This is the only comic of mine (that I can think of, anyway) with a swear! Which swear is it? You’ll have to read to find out!
As the sub-title would suggest, elements of this story are in fact true. I did go on a scouting trip where I saw a deer up close in the woods when I wandered off to pee and no one believed me when I told them. Other elements are only slightly true.
Btw, what did you think of that swear? Pretty cool, right? Yeah, I’m kind of a rebel sometimes.
Some interesting facts about this comic. I wanted to something different for the print version, so I went all out on the cover stock. I had it custom made by a local paper maker AND the cover design is a hand-carved block print.
Later, I used this same block-print approach on two other comics. If you haven’t read those comics either, both are available to read on the website here and here.
The Skeleson block was for a re-print of that comic.
WELP, THAT’S IT FOR THIS WEEK
Bye!
