THE MOST SHRED OR DEAD YET!!!!!!
In which, THE MOST SHRED OR DEAD!!!!!!!
THE MOST SHRED OR DEAD!!!!!
I don’t actually know what that means, but this is going to be the last Shred or Dead focused post. I don’t mean I’m not gonna post about it again, mind you. Just gonna give y’all a little break from the constant Shredding.
This is the last post, so I thought I’d let some other folks talk about Shred for a bit. It’s been a very surreal experience seeing reviews come through from folks who aren’t my friends or family. I thought I’d share a few of them here:
MORE BEHIND THE SCENES STUFF
There’s a lot of fun villains in Shred. Let’s take a look at where all these weird little freaks came from, shall we?
One of the first villains the crew comes up against is the creepy little Ringmaster. Terrible at Geometry and maybe…just as bad at course design. Here’s some of the early designs. The one in the top middle was definitely leaning too creepy.
Good thing that didn’t make it further.

Next, we got the Oracle and her Ghouls (Goths). These creepy creeps hang out in a spooky, abandoned indoor skate park. I don’t remember why, but I got it in my head that it would be funny if she first appeared really tall and later…was small. Hilarious!
Hence the mock up trying to figure out how she was make the change from one height to the other.

There’s one final villain design I wanted to go over BUT…It’s the final boss, so if y’all don’t want spoilers, stop reading after it says SPOILERS down there. I’ll post the link to the latest Rowdydow, then the rest of the Behind the Scenes stuff will be after that. If you stopped here, thanks for reading and for checking out all my Shred or Dead stuff. Remember, if you haven’t gotten a chance yet, the book is available now to order.
There’s also a BOGO sale going on at IDW right now, so if you have other Top Shelf books you’ve been eyeing, check that out (although I’ve been told that the shipping cost is a little high, fair warning).
ROWDYDOWDY DOO FOR YOU TOO!
We’ll back to getting Rowdydown with the Rowdydow next week. Meanwhile, check out the latest page:
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!
DON’T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON’T WANT NO SPOILERS!
I’ll keep SOME secrets about the last boss (Mostly the name, for legal reasons), but I WILL say that his design (which has two stages) were both based on birds.
Hawks are a type of bird, just as an aside.
The final boss’ first design was based on a freshly hatched baby bird. Also, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that pushing the size of his head based on inspiration by the boss character from Smiling Friends.

He second design was based on these really unsettling bird called a Whippoorwill.

BYE!
That’s all for this week. Goodbye.
